WendyEM I suggest for over a decade or so that PCS carries out a practical training for volunteers (using PPE, mixing, spraying, etc). The office based chem cert training is okay covers legal stuff and theory but should be followed by practice training in the field....

Great to see good protective clothing in use. Also spot spraying. Conservation managers I was involved with in northern Melbourne (where I used to live) did this too. Council staff and contractors and others never used protective gear -that I saw. I once found my back lane frothy/running as if the few weeds had been hosed. Some seemed to think the poison had 'magic' properties as they totally over-sprayed vigorous native groundcover shrub with some vetch growing on it. When the shrubs died back they then had deep mulch piled all over them. A special council demo native street planting.
